AI-based forecasting of Large-Scale Travelling Ionospheric Disturbances (LSTIDs) over Europe utilizes machine learning to predict severe space weather-driven perturbations in the ionosphere. Pioneered by European initiatives like T-FORS and ARISTIDE, these models provide short-term forecasts up to 3 hours in advance, successfully mitigating disruptions to GNSS positioning, satellite navigation, and radar networks.
